Armed Robbery in the Student Center Parking Lot
On 09/18/2008 at approximately 11:50pm a Georgia Tech Student was robbed in the Student Center Parking Lot area by a white male using pepper spray and displaying a silver revolver. The suspect took the victim's wallet and cellular phone before fleeing the area on foot. A short time later, two more students were robbed on State Street North of campus and one of the victims was reportedly sprayed by the suspect with an unknown aerosol. The suspect then fled on foot from the area.
All victims reported a similar description of their attacker. The suspect was described as a white male of medium build, standing about 5' 7" in height. He was wearing a white shirt, cream-colored shorts, and a white kangol style knit cap.
Georgia Tech Police and Atlanta Zone 5 Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. No one was seriously injured during the incident.
This incident is under investigation by the Georgia Tech Police Department and Atlanta Police Department. We will release more information as more details become available.
